SOME DETAILS

------------------------

'89 535iA in very good shape, Cirrus blue with tan leather interior.

Powered by the amazing 3.5 liter inline 6 (208 hp, 225 ft/lb torque)

coupled to 4-speed auto transmission. Power everything (even

head-rests), heated seats/mirrors/locks, 6-CD changer, on-board computer,

all working normally. $46k new, and getting hard to find reasonable mileage

ones these days.

THE GOOD

------------------

ALL major e34 5-series issues have been taken care of:

On-board computer; control arms; driveline and guibo; tranny mounts; front

struts; radiator; light control module (LKM); brakes done at ~110k miles

(rotors and pads). Receipts for work come with the car.

Regular maintenance, 11k miles on 225x60x15" Michelin MXV4 Energy tires,

inspection II recently performed.

THE NOT SO GOOD

-------------------------------

In the interests of full-disclosure, let me describe the things that aren't

perfect...

Has the usual nicks, scratches, and dings you'd expect on a well-cared-for

but 11 year old car. All very minor! Cracked (but functional) passenger side

low-beam lamp. Some interior tears, scratches and marks, plus a little of

the infamous door panel separation. Nothing is major or unsightly, and it is

truly a beautiful car in and out, I'm just trying to set expectations - it's

not a show car, but it is definitely not neglected looking. Most of my

passengers think it is < 5 years old when they first meet it.

THE OTHER

-------------------

I'm selling because we have two nice family cars (this and an e34 525iT wagon),

and we only need one. The wagon is more practical, so I'm selling the sedan

(even though it's more fun to drive). This example is ready to go another 100k+

miles with all the recent work, and it's very tight and quiet. A wonderful sports

sedan! Don't cheat yourself with a Camry or Accord when you can haul the family

around in a true driver's car.
